Company Overview
Podimetrics is a virtual care management company dedicated to preventing diabetic amputations, one of the most debilitating and costly complications of diabetes. Podimetrics earns high engagement rates from patients and allows clinicians to achieve unparalleled outcomes – keeping vulnerable patients healthy at home and saving limbs, lives, and money. Founded in 2011 by a physician and engineers from MIT and Harvard, Podimetrics is headquartered in Somerville, MA and has a growing team of passionate and mission-driven individuals devoted to improving the lives of patients with diabetes everywhere.

Jon Bloom, MD
Chief Executive OfficerJon Bloom, MD
Dr. Jon Bloom is a board-certified physician and entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in technology development, patient monitoring, biomedical research, and health care delivery. He co-founded Podimetrics in 2011 while a student at the MIT Sloan School of Management, and he’s served as our CEO ever since. Dr. Bloom was first inspired to create a solution to help prevent diabetic amputations while practicing anesthesia; he frequently treated patients who required foot amputations, and knew there had to be a less drastic way to prevent diabetic foot complications. He previously served as a Clinical Assistant Professor and staff anesthesiologist at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and as the Director of Global Medical Affairs for Covidien's Respiratory and Monitoring Solutions division. Dr. Bloom has co-authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications with a primary focus on health care economics and perioperative complications. He earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Kyle Bray

Kyle is an executive leader with 15+ years of experience in successful high-growth, high-scale health care organizations. As Chief Operating Officer, he is responsible for day-to-day operations of the company to support the delivery of the mission of Podimetrics. Kyle has extensive experience leading operations for companies in health care, previously serving as Chief Operating Officer of ConsumerMedical and MEP Health. Kyle holds a health care concentrated Master’s of Business Administration from Yale University. He earned his Bachelor of Art in Strategic Leadership, Management, and Marketing from Ohio University and is a graduate of Leadership Anne Arundel as well as the National Outdoor Leadership School.
Kim Carpenter

Kim is a strategic marketer and brand storyteller with over 20 years of experience. As Vice President, Marketing, she leads Podimetrics’ marketing efforts for patients, providers, and payers, ensuring unfettered access to our solution for our patients. She also plays a leading role in driving our partnership with VA medical centers across the country. With previous experience as a Division VP, Marketing at HCA Healthcare and as an Associate Partner and Executive Vice President at HCB Health, a full-service marketing and advertising health care agency, she is well-versed in building, launching, and growing national and global brands in the fast-changing health care landscape. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising and Journalism from Texas State University.
Elizabeth Hamacher

Elizabeth is a solutions-driven health care executive with demonstrated success in leading both clinical and administrative growth across multiple health care settings. As Vice President of Care Management, she is responsible for scaling Podimetrics’ work to efficiently and effectively serve more patients. Elizabeth has held clinical leadership roles at Consumer Medical, Beth Israel Lahey Health, Coastal Medical, Cape Cod Healthcare Physician Hospital Organization, and Emerald Physician Services LLC, leading strategic planning, leadership development, operations, and quality improvement efforts. She holds a Master's degree in Healthcare Leadership from Brown University, a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Sciences from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Vik Kodipelli
Vice President, Software DevelopmentVik Kodipelli
Vik Kodipelli is a software development executive with a strong background in the health care industry. As the VP of Software Development at Podimetrics, he leads an agile team developing care management solutions. He previously served at PatientMatters, where he architected patient-focused Revenue Cycle SaaS solutions which served hospital systems. Vik also co-founded and served as the CTO of Benaissance, where he led the product development efforts for industry leading SaaS solutions. At Benaissance, he was instrumental in building individual insurance billing solutions which performed billing for COBRA TPAs, State ACA exchanges, and payers in the Federal Exchange. Vik holds a master’s degree from Peter Kiewit Institute at University of Nebraska and an MBA with a concentration in Finance.
David Linders
Chief Technology OfficerDavid Linders
David first became aware of the devastating effects of diabetic foot ulcers while meeting with amputees in a prosthetics research laboratory. Soon after, he co-founded Podimetrics to prevent these debilitating wounds from occurring and eliminate diabetic amputations altogether. As CTO, David oversees all hardware product development and manufacturing at Podimetrics. David holds a Master's in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and an MBA from MIT's Sloan School of Management as part of the Leaders for Global Operations Program. He previously helped develop an implantable device for lung cancer radiation guidance at Calypso Medical (now owned by Varian Medical Systems) and co-founded and led technology development at LiteTouch, a sensor company for physical therapists.
Kim Nguyen

Kim is an accomplished finance leader with expertise in developing and executing financial strategy. As Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis, she oversees all aspects of strategic financial planning and management so Podimetrics can best serve our patients, providers and payer partners. Kim has over 10 years of experience in finance within healthcare. Most recently, Kim served as Associate Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis at Virtual Radiologic, a high-growth healthcare provider practice. Kim holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Marketing from the Carlson School of Management and a Master of Business Administration from the Hamline School of Business.
Brian Petersen

Brian is passionate about improving health outcomes through the development of patient-centered products and services. As Chief Scientist, he oversees the clinical operations, software, and research teams at Podimetrics. Brian has an engineering background with experience using analytics and numerical simulations techniques to build and evaluate advanced defense systems and platforms for the Office of Naval Research and DARPA. Brian is a graduate of the MIT Leaders for Global Operations program and holds a Masters degree in Engineering Systems and an MBA with a concentration in operations management.
Brian Rosekrans
Vice President, Veterans Care ServicesBrian Rosekrans
Brian is a sales executive with 18 years of experience in the health care industry. As Vice President, Veteran Care Services, he leads Podimetrics’ partnership with the Veterans Health Administration. With his leadership, Podimetrics has expanded into more than 40 VA medical centers across the country, providing our solution to a particularly high-risk population. Brian brings extensive sales experience to his role, including serving as Senior Regional Business Manager at the Medtronics-owned company Kirton-Bennett, one of the world’s largest ventilator suppliers. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Merchandising Management from Michigan State University.
Simon Salgado

Simon leads Podimetrics' Enterprise Health Services with responsibility for Strategy, Sales, Business Development and Account Management for commercial Health Plan and Hospital System clients and the patients they serve. As a previous 10-year veteran of CVS Health and former Deloitte Strategy and Operations consultant, Simon has deep Product Innovation, Development and Payor Sales experience in leading teams to develop, deploy and commercialize healthcare services that improve patient health and deliver strong business results. He holds an MBA from MIT's Sloan School of Management and a Bachelor's in Public and Private Sector Organizations from Brown University.
Matthew Scalo

Matt has nearly two decades of experience in finance spanning banking and financial services and various healthcare verticals, including in executive roles at high-profile health care organizations. As Chief Financial Officer, Matt leads Podimetrics’ corporate finance efforts including strategic planning, budgeting, and data analytics. An experienced finance executive, Matt has held leadership roles at Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Medica Health Plans, Doctor on Demand, Virtual Radiologic (vRad), and Citibank North America, where he led various strategic initiatives. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance, Management Information Systems, and Economics from the University at Albany, State University of New York.

As Vice President, People, she oversees Podimetrics’ rapid company growth and leads our efforts to recruit, maintain, and support our expanding staff by fostering a work environment based on creativity, inclusion, and diversity. With previous experience at Walden Behavioral Care, Liz understands what it takes to spearhead change management initiatives, decrease turnover, and boost company morale among health care professionals. Alexandra Cantley
Alexandra Cantley
Alexandra Cantley is a partner in Polaris Partners’ New York office, where she focuses on healthcare and biotech investments, and works closely with numerous Polaris portfolio companies including Podimetrics, Auron Therapeutics, Engine Biosciences and SunBird Bio. Prior to joining Polaris, Alexandra was part of the initial research team at Inzen Therapeutics, where she helped develop their platform technologies. She moved to Inzen from Vertex Pharmaceuticals, where she held a research fellowship. She received a PhD in Chemical Biology from Harvard University, where she studied natural product discovery and performed her undergraduate studies at New York University.

Dr. Geraty has been an operating executive in startups (Monarch Health and Assured Health), mid-sized companies (AxisPoint Health, AIM, ) and public companies (Alere). He is currently on the boards of Podimetrics, JumpStart MD, Ideal Option and Chairman of the Board of Aduro. In addition, he is a Senior Advisor to Varsity Healthcare Partners, a national Private Equity firm investing in healthcare services. Dr. Geraty has been involved with academia as well as a Clinical Instructor at Harvard and Fellow at the Harvard Medical School Division of Healthcare Policy. In addition, he is currently involved with founding a digital behavioral healthcare company focused on youth backed by Flare Capital and Polaris Partners.

Andrew Offer

Andrew Offer is a General Partner and the Chief Executive Officer of Scientific Health Development. With over 15 years of healthcare investment experience, Mr. Offer serves on the board of directors for most active SHD portfolio companies including Sight Sciences (Nasdaq: SGHT), in addition to historically acting in the capacity of Chief Financial Officer for multiple portfolio companies. Prior to joining SHD, he spent more than 3 years at VMG Health, where he focused on business valuation exclusively in the healthcare industry. Mr. Offer holds a B.B.A. in Finance from Texas A&M University, in addition to the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Dallas-Fort Worth.

An experienced medtech investor, Aaron Sandoski is the Managing Director of Norwich Ventures, an early-stage medtech VC he co-founded in 2004, and founding Partner of the Medtech Convergence Fund. He previously worked for DEKA, the engineering think tank of Dean Kamen, and two start-up companies that were acquired. Aaron began his career as a consultant at McKinsey & Company. He currently serves as a board member of MassMEDIC and is a regular guest lecturer on healthcare innovation at Harvard and Stanford. Aaron is the co-author of How the Wise Decide, a book on decision-making that has been translated into 11 foreign languages. He earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and graduated summa cum laude from Dartmouth College with a double A.B. in Chemistry and Economics.

Doug Ghertner
Doug Ghertner is a health care executive with more than 25 years of experience in sales and corporate strategy. He currently serves as the CEO of IVX Health, a national provider of infusion and injection therapy for those with complex chronic conditions. He previously held senior leadership positions at CVS Health, Change Healthcare, and Emdeon. Doug holds an MBA from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia and a Bachelor’s degree with special attainments in commerce from Washington and Lee University.

David Joyner
David Joyner
David Joyner has more than 35 years of health care experience with extensive knowledge of all payer markets including employers, health plans, and government. He previously served as the Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for CVS Caremark and was a member of the Executive Leadership Team for CVS Health, before retiring in 2019. During his tenure, David helped grow CVS Caremark from less than $1 billion in 1993 to more than $140 billion in annualized PBM revenues in 2019. Leading the sales organization for more than 23 years, he’s built a proven record leading businesses and high performance teams through rapid, organic growth. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Texas Tech University.

Senator Bob Kerrey

Senator Kerrey has decades of public service and health care experience serving vulnerable populations. He served as a U.S. Senator from Nebraska from 1989-2001, where he sat on the National Bipartisan Commission on the Future of Medicare and regularly fought for equal access to health care for all — including those in rural communities. He’s also a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served as a U.S. Navy SEAL officer and was awarded the Medal of Honor. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a commitment to supporting other veterans and their access to health care. He’s now Managing Director at the investment banking firm Allen & Company LLC, where he backs many innovative health care companies.

Dr. Kenneth W. Kizer
Dr. Kenneth W. Kizer
Dr. Kizer previously served as the VA’s Undersecretary for Health where he is credited with engineering an internationally acclaimed transformation of the Veterans Healthcare System in the late 1990s that dramatically improved the quality of care veterans receive. Among his other senior health executive positions, he was the founding president and CEO of the National Quality Forum, a consensus standards setting organization that promotes health care quality through performance measurement and public reporting. He also has served as Chief Medical Officer for the California Department of Managed Health Care and currently serves as the co-chair of the National Quality Task Force.

Dr. David Armstrong

Dr. Armstrong is Professor of Surgery at the University of Southern California. He has produced more than 480 peer-reviewed research papers in dozens of scholarly medical journals as well as over 80 book chapters. He is co-Editor of the American Diabetes Association’s (ADA) Clinical Care of the Diabetic Foot, now in its third edition. Dr. Armstrong is past Chair of Scientific Sessions for the ADA’s Foot Care Council, and a past member of the National Board of Directors of the American Diabetes Association. He sits on the Infectious Disease Society of America’s (IDSA) Diabetic Foot Infection Advisory Committee and is the US appointed delegate to the International Working Group on the Diabetic Foot (IWGDF).

Dr. Foluso Fakorede
Dr. Foluso Fakorede
Dr. Foluso Fakorede is a national leader in the fight to combat diabetic amputations and improve health disparities in underserved communities. He is an endovascular specialist who co-founded and now serves as the CEO of Cardiovascular Solutions of Central Mississippi, which aims to provide access to quality health care for all. He is also CEO of Fusion Vascular, an outpatient lab focused on preventive vascular medicine and limb salvage. He has continually advocated for underserved populations, securing the introduction of Congressional legislation to prevent diabetic amputations and address racial disparities through additional screening and other resources. Dr. Fakorede earned his medical degree from the UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and his Bachelor of Art in biology from Rutgers University.

Dr. Larry Lavery
Dr. Larry Lavery
Dr. Larry Lavery is an internationally recognized expert in diabetic foot complications and prevention strategies. He is a Professor of Plastic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Medical Director of the Diabetic Limb Salvage program at Parkland Memorial Hospital, and member of the International Working Group on the Diabetic Foot. His research focuses on the full range of wound care solutions, and he’s been at the forefront of expanding options for patients in North Texas. He earned his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University and his Bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Indiana University.

Dr. Paul Manberg
Dr. Paul Manberg
Dr. Manberg has four decades of experience leading the regulatory and clinical development programs for a wide range of medical device and pharmaceutical products. He has designed and executed numerous US and international multicenter clinical trials leading to successful product registrations and market adoption activities while holding executive positions at Ares-Serono, Aspect Medical Systems, Covidien, CSA Medical and Health Data Analytics Institute. Since 2011, Dr. Manberg has maintained an active clinical and regulatory strategic consulting practice for early-stage medical industry clients. He received his BS degree in Biology from SUNY-Binghamton and his Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine.
