Q: What are the symptoms of COVID-19?

A: According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), symptoms include fever, cough, and shortness of breath. Please visit www.cdc.gov/coronavirus for more information.

Q: I think I might have COVID-19. When should I seek medical care?

A: The CDC recommends you seek immediate medical attention if you start experiencing: trouble breathing, persistent chest pain, new confusion, or bluish lips or face. 

Q: My provider recommended that I visit a COVID-19 testing center. Is it safe for me to do so?

A: You should follow your health care provider’s advice.

Q: Am I considered to be “high risk” for contracting COVID-19?

A: The CDC states that individuals 65 years and older are considered to be at high risk for contracting a severe form of COVID-19, including those with diabetes, severe obesity, chronic kidney disease undergoing dialysis, liver disease, lung disease, asthma, or those with serious heart conditions. 

Q: I currently have/and or recently recovered from a diabetic foot ulcer. What precautions should I take right now? 

A: Individuals who have recently had a diabetic foot ulcer are at high risk for developing additional ulcers or other complications. Please be sure that you are following your doctor’s advice for your daily routine foot care.

Q. I have a routine appointment with my doctor that was cancelled. How do I get it rescheduled?

A. Please call your doctor’s office to reschedule for an in-person or a virtual appointment. 

Q. I am having new or worsening diabetic foot complications. What do I do?

A. Please call your doctor’s office to ask for an in-person or a virtual appointment. If you are having difficulties getting an appointment, please call our Care Management Team at 833-203-3777 and we will work with your team to help support your care.

Q: My SmartMat is scheduled for delivery soon. Will that still happen as planned?

A: Yes, you will still be receiving your delivery as planned. Our Care Management Team will be calling you to schedule a shipment and teach you how to use your SmartMat over the phone.
